APEL Workshop
The SWLLN and the WVLLN (Western Vocational LLN) hosted a free Workshop Day for learning and training providers across the whole of the South West from Cheltenham to Penzance to Bournemouth on 22 May at the Taunton Conference Centre, Somerset College of Art and Technology.
The theme was the Accreditation of Prior Learning, both certificated and through experience
(AP[E]L).
- Share and compare institutional practice in credit and AP[E]L
- Look at how AP[E]L can be used to improve HE progression opportunities for vocational learners
- Explore new models for accrediting work-based learning and experience including the SWLLN’s Competencies Framework pilot
- Consider the usefulness of AP(E)L units as a progression tool
