Weymouth College

The 2012 Olympics are expected to attract new businesses to Weymouth and increase demand for highly trained staff in the Tourism, Heritage and Public Services sectors.  With this in mind, the College will use the SWLLN funds to:

• Appoint a Higher Education Information, Advice and Guidance Champion who will take a higher-level specialist qualification and in turn develop a number of other staff across the College to provide an outreach Information, Advice and Guidance service that will promote the range of opportunities for Higher Education, specifically those available locally

• Work with local employers to identify higher-level training needs in Tourism, Heritage and Public Services sectors and increase participation in Continuing Professional Development courses
