Dorset Adult Learning (DAL)

DAL aims to engage with potential learners throughout the rural county of Dorset in venues that the client finds familiar and non-threatening. DAL has trained a large number of champions who encourage others in their communities and workplaces to get into learning. These champions complement professional advisers and tutors who provide a wide range of IAG to guide people to learning opportunities. With SWLLN Hub support they will now undertake training to increase their knowledge of Higher Education opportunities, including access to HE. They also plan to promote alternative modes and styles of learning to suit, for instance, rural learners.  This will include flexi, blended, distance and e-learning. They aim to work with voluntary and community partners to engage particular client groups, for instance Rethink, who work with adults with mental health difficulties, as well as with employers.
