Higher Skills (HLSPP) for Employers

HEFCE has invited HE institutions and their regional partners to undertake collaborative work to enhance the contribution of higher education to the skills agenda more broadly, whilst recognising that many institutions are already making a strong contribution to this agenda.  HEFCE believes that closer partnerships between HE, employers and the skills infrastructure are required to support all learners to combine learning and work in a way which meets their needs and those of the long term economy.

The project has now been launched and the process of hiring project management staff and intermediaries has begun.

Three initial start-up projects are soon to begin including the creation of a Business Champions network.

As part of the project's 'Stimulating Demand' theme, a Development Fund has been established into which institutions can bid to establish innovative, demand-led projects.
