Kate Holmes
Kate leads on the SWLLN’s Progression Strand which aims to develop learning frameworks or pathways for people working in the target sectors. The strand’s main areas of work are mapping progression routes and identifying gaps in provision, developing progression agreements between institutions in the South West and supporting staff development activities related to vocational learners and progression.
Kate is based at Bournemouth University. She has worked in Adult and Higher Education for 15 years, teaching and developing curriculum in ESOL, learning support and teacher training at Poole Adult Learning, the University of Derby, the University of Manchester and Bilkent University in Turkey. More recently at Bournemouth she managed the postgraduate CPD Framework and also had oversight of the University’s summer school portfolio. Kate has an MA in Linguistics as well as postgraduate English language teaching qualifications.
