David moved into Information Advice and Guidance work after a varied career which included selling fruit and vegetables on a market stall, working as a fork lift truck driver, working as a slinger in the steel industry and spells in retailing, food manufacture and distribution.  He moved into Careers Advisory work after realising that his career progression would have benefited from some informed advice and guidance at an earlier stage in life. He has worked in Industry, Local Government, Schools, Sixth Form Colleges, Further Education Colleges and Higher Education.  David is experienced in working in partnership within educational institutions, with employers and with individuals on personal development and career management plans designed to aid career progression and to enable organisations to obtain maximum benefit from their most important resource – their staff.  He is based at Bournemouth University working with Marian Harrison developing the Information Advice Guidance and Learner Support strand of the SWLLN.
